Often times we as musicians tend to forget that one of the important reasons of music-making is about sharing it with others. We get so caught up with being selfish in the entire process and at the end of the day we ended up missing the real meaning of music-making: we isolate ourselves from others, we only care about our own projects, and all we do is about ‘getting it right’ (which of course is important, too). But perhaps music is more than that: it is about discovering and transforming beauty, and to experience that beauty with others through sincerity, giving, inspiring, motivating, and most importantly… loving. There are certainly people who have been moved and inspired by our music at a concert; but there are also people whose lives have changed because of who we are to them throughout the entire process of music-making. Life and music… inseparable. - Inspired by a conversation with Peter Ferry @ Rochester, New York
